ABOUT
Dorado Strategic
Founded in 2018. Based in the Bay Area and Washington, DC.
I've spent twenty years in rooms where the decisions are expensive and the problems don't fit neatly into frameworks. Hospitality boardrooms, federal agency war rooms, corporate strategy sessions. What connects the work is a bias toward building: platforms that get adopted, processes that survive the people who designed them, strategies designed to endure beyond the engagement.
I grew up around resort properties in South Florida, surrounded by the business from childhood. While other kids were playing after school, I was on property learning the business from the inside out: sales, marketing, resort operations, F&B, commercial development, loan securitization, partnerships, maintenance. I started officially working on property at 14 and spent the next decade moving through every side of the operation before joining a publicly traded hospitality company in capital development, underwriting resort projects and helping prepare SEC documentation for a public offering.
That operating foundation shapes how I approach every engagement. It's why I was brought in to help build a hospitality practice at a national strategy firm.
In consulting, I've worked at firms where the expectations are high and the work is visible. I redeveloped pricing and marketing strategy for a global theme park operator, led enterprise CRM deployment and sales transformation for a national hospitality brand, and conducted strategic evaluations that identified $35M+ in state cost savings. I crafted acquisition strategy for a defense technology program that opened the door for specialized vendors to compete alongside traditional primes. On the federal side, I led joint engagements with a Big Three strategy firm on a $42.5B national infrastructure program, launched a first-of-its-kind innovation platform connecting industry with the nation's largest integrated healthcare provider, and led a financial reconciliation effort that returned $130M to veterans' healthcare in five months.
I studied Government and International Relations at Amherst College and earned my MBA at Rollins, with concentrations in finance, marketing, and management.
My wife and I are based in the Bay Area and Washington, DC. Outside of work, I fish, cook, golf, and spend more time than I should tracking planes.
